Soph, Ian and myself spent the Christmas holiday in a cottage on Weathercote farm, between Thirsk and Helmsley on the North Yorkshire moors. We visited Riveaux Abbey, Soph's family in Bishop Auckland, Whitby, and walked on the moors. On Boxing day there was a violent storm and we lost power in the cottage for a day.
